Quick File Rename Source List
Ensure that audio tracks stored in each folder are related, in this case, they belong to the same album "Superman Returns"
Step one

The first step to categorize your music is to use meta data such as id3 which is commonly found in MP3 tags.

Quick File Rename allows insertion of MP3 meta data into your folder names, quickly and easily!

First make sure the music folders contain only the songs related to a particular album or artist.

For example if a folder contains the Superman Returns album, you want only songs relating to Superman Returns stored in this folder. Do this for every folder containing your music files.

Decide what attributes to insert using Quick File Rename
Step two

The second step is deciding what attributes you want inserted into the folder name. Typically this can be information such as album name, album artist, and album year.

Quick File Rename supports many audio attributes which you can use as part of the folder name.

In our example, we want all our folders to contain the album name, artist, and album year.

Adding our Rules in Quick File Rename
Step three

Now that we've decided what attributes we want to insert, we first clear the existing folder names by going to the Remove tab and adding the Make title empty Rule.

Next, we goto the Insert tab and add the following text which contains the tags we want.

<audio.artist> - <audio.album> - <audio.year>

then we add the position based insert Rule.
Step four

Now we preview our before and after changes. The Preview window will be updated to show before and after rename.

Folders which are unchecked will not be renamed. From the above example, the folders Favourites and Superman Returns will be renamed with the id3 tag data taken from each folder's corresponding audio tracks. Pretty nifty eh?
